As for me, "Love" is solitude...valuable gift that comes from the heart, given by the Creator and we must cherish it for it to last. Finding 'true love' can be easy or crucial to some. But I belief, when you really believe that 'true love' is out there for you and surrender to the Creator, he will eventually grant you. Some people finds it fast, at a very young age and last forever, lucky for them! Some people need to wait for the right moment.
Somehow, this thing called love can be quite mysterious. It's funny how, now, we have all advance technologies, like the cellphones, internet, mobile aps, etc. and we have 'broader' opportunities travelling all over the world as compared to our grandparents time. But, when it comes to finding 'true love' it is still rationally speaking can be mysterious. Don't you think so? I mean supposively since we have more access to meet with more people outside, through friends, connections, workplace, social hangouts, or from the internet, it should be so much easier to find love, right? Somehow, it is not as easy as we perceive. Why?
One thing I realized, in Islam, this subject matter is one of the major ones, that Allah SWT (the Creator) had told us that he has reserved it in the Big Book which is already been written. He has reserved our 'true love' to be with us, to meet us in this world. But yeah, what about those relationships (for those of you who have tried datings or fall out of love) which we had gone through? I guess, it is more of how we choose our lifestyle in this matter.
Actually, in Islam 'dating' is not permitted. It is better to meet up in a group of friends. The level of relationship should be kept at minimal as just friends, until both really decided in their hearts that yes, they want to take it to the next level. And then, the guy should propose to the girl. Simple isn't it? Or you kinda have arguments about this? Like...yeah, but how can you really know you are suitable for each other or not, etc. or we need to date to see the 'chemistry' etc.
Well, when it comes to this, I think, everyone can feel chemistry even without touching each other. It is more of that feeling which comes from the heart that can keeps you 'honestly' to be in love with each other for a very long time. So, the outing of getting to know with friends or few more people is the best! It is what Allah likes, so there must be very good reasons for this! Try to list out the good reasons. For me, this keeps things fair, less complicated, avoid hurts, betrayal, heartbreaks, taking advantage, yadayadayada...the list goes on.
If you think this is 'too traditional' or outdated...it is up to you! But try to look at those examples of 'terrible love stories' that never end up having blissful marriage after all. Worst! Once used to be so called 'he/she is my everything, the world, best friend forever' gone the other way around. Yes 'my worst enemy/nightmare'! Haha.
The issue is more of about 'finding true love' and can still be mysterious even we are much more advance now, with technologies, etc. How can it not be mysterious, some people in high school starts dating during freshman year and ten years after that end up breaking up. Some people starts knowing each other in Uni end up getting married or break up. Thus, in this article, I am just giving a simple tips, according to Islam for us to find 'true love' in the easier way if we want to avoid those bad disasterous feelings of being broken hearted, again and again. It is not just avoiding being too much broken hearted, but also, avoiding a lot of other bad things to happen. Like..."Gosh, after all that I had put up for...after all those years...this is what I get?!?"
Why am I even writing about 'living in'? I guess this doesn't apply to true Muslims but those who are more liberal in their lifestyle. But this part also applicable to other religion as well...I am sure, it is normal for non-muslims (some friends of mine) to live in before getting married. If it works out, then we will get married. I just don't see this idea as applicable to the term, if it works out well... Marriage is an ongoing process to know each other and accepting the love, companionships, and hoping it will last forever. There is still probability about 'if it works out well' there. But at least, you have put your intentions, responsibilities, true love, heart matters right, do you get what I mean?
Enough about the meaning of marriage....back to the finding your 'better half/true love', yes, I truly belief, it is all written...and of course fate can be changed...but in terms of being able to get married to someone, with the right ways of doing things and right intentions, can make things less complicated. It is nicer to find 'true love' that is meant to last forever rather than getting married to someone that will only be for few years. You do have several list of names listed to be with according to your life timeline, but to be married to him/her is the only with the 'written' ones. You can dates, have social type of relationships with more than 100 people, get hook ups, what ever terms and doings you choose to do, yet, when it comes to "Love", it is still sacred. No matter how high-tech you are, or of successful, and social lifestyle you are...if you don't ask and look for "true love" from the Creator, you will never finds it or make it. All you get or can keep on trying datings one person after another....yet, you will not end up getting that thing called "Love"...even better "True Love"...and yes it is written, ask for it and it will seek for you.
Anyways, this song sort of represent that feelings of being in love....but not too sure what kind of love are they referring to. Well, you can always define it in your own term.
